American Tree Sparrow, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park

An American Tree Sparrow perches atop a leafy branch in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, its small form surrounded by the lush greenery of summer.

With its distinctive rust-colored breast and gray back, this sparrow is a common sight in North American forests and grasslands.

As the summer sun beats down, this tree sparrow seems undaunted, its bright eyes and lively demeanor a testament to the resilience of wildlife in the face of the elements.
