The Three-toed Woodpecker is a striking bird that is native to the forests of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park in Alaska. With its distinctive black and white barred plumage and bright red cap, the Three-toed Woodpecker is easily recognizable in the wild.

As a forest-dwelling bird, the Three-toed Woodpecker can often be found drumming on tree trunks in search of insects to eat.
