Northern Lights from Atigun Pass, Brooks Range, Alaska
Alaska
Bright green and soft purple auroral bands ripple above a frozen riverbed in Alaska’s Brooks Range. The northern lights here often span the horizon, lighting up the tundra and creating reflections off snow and ice-covered surfaces.
With expansive views and uninterrupted vistas, the Brooks Range allows for full-sky shots that capture the scale of aurora events. This image illustrates the isolation and beauty of Alaska’s high-latitude wilderness. Photo © copyright by Carl Donohue.
