A young Great Horned Owl chick (Bubo virginianus) sits on the top of a small white spruce tree in the boreal forest, Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska. Despite its young age, this owl is a skilled predator, known for its powerful talons and keen eyesight.
