With its piercing gaze and distinctive ear tufts, this majestic bird is a symbol of the wild beauty found in Alaska's vast wilderness. It's no wonder that the Great Horned Owl is known as the "tiger of the sky" for its powerful hunting skills and fierce appearance."
This little guy had landed on the grounded, and before long flew off to a nearby white spruce tree in the boreal forest. Great Horned Owl, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska.
