An adult male polar bear strides purposefully across a snow-covered landscape on Alaska's Arctic coast. His massive frame, thick fur, and broad paws mark him as a mature boar in prime condition, well-adapted to life on the frozen coastal plain. The low, overcast sky behind him flattens the light, turning the scene into an almost monochromatic study of white on white.
