Bald eagle, feeding on snowshoe hare, Alaska

Bald eagle, feeding on snowshoe hare, Alaska.

Hey Folks,

Who said bald eagles only eat fish. This one has a snowshoe hare and seems to be more than happy with it.

So far, I’ve seen my first grizzly of the year, my first black bear of the year, bull moose, cow moose, beaver and some other white thing that raced across a road in front of me, that I have no idea what it was .. larger than a housecat, with a tail, snow white, and running for it’s life.

A mystery.

That’s the mammals. None of which I photographed. I do have, however, some bird images. You’ll be seeing a number of birds on this blog over the next week.

Here’s another of the bald eagle

Man, those eagle pics are just awesome!! What great pics. You can almost tell what he’s thinking. Like he just went to the drive-thru at Mickey d’s!! Or should I say fly-thru! Those really are 2 beautiful pics!! Also, I’m still wondering what you saw that was pure white & bigger than a housecat. Strange. Maybe a fox?

    Hey Folks,

Thanks for all the comments. I’m glad you stick around, and drop by. And I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and especially when you say nice stuff. Thanks.

Beth, as for the mystery white animal, I’m just thinking it had to be a really big cat – I can’t think of anything else it may have been. But it moved like a wild animal, didn’t pause or slow down as it crossed the road, or glance towards me, just made like a flash into the woods. But nothing else here would be snowwhite, unless it’s an albino something .. and even then, it looked too cat like. I might guess a lynx, but it had a tail. So I’ll say a cat. A big, crack-smoking paranoid fat white cat. 🙂

    Cheers

    Carl
