Chitistone valley, or Chitistone Canyon, near Skolai Pass, is an ex-gold miner route into the Yukon Territory from Alaska. Wrangell - St. Elias National Park and Preserve, Alaska. These days it's rapidly becoming quite a classic backpacking route, and for good reason. Awesome walk. * Note spelling is Chitistone, not Chittistone.

Rock Glacier flowing down the side of Sourdough Mountain, fall colors glowing in the evening sun. Rock Glaciers are a mix of ice and rock that flow, often at surprising speed, down a steep mountain side. Rock glaciers form in cirques high on a mountain face, a combination of talus and scree that, as the water they hold freezes and turns to ice, begin to flow downhill.
