Yin Yang Photo #2.

An absract photo, shadow and light, winterm representing yin yang, on snow bank, Wrangell St. Elias National park, Alaska.

Hey Folks,

A follow-up to my ‘snowbank’ scene. I’d been reading a bit of eastern philosophy, some of which I really admire, and the yin yang idea resonated strongly with me. It just seems, so clearly, to represent the world; light and shadow, sound and silence, space and solid, energy and matter, left and right, short and tall, love and fear, being and non-being. The philosophy delves much more deeply than those mere examples of its (yin yang) manifestation, but I won’t go into all that at the moment. It’s pretty cool stuff though, check it out.

Not quite a yin yang photo, but here’s another abstract from this little snowbank.

An Abstract photo, in black and white, of a snowbank or snow dune, showing shadows and light, winter, Wrangell - St. Elias National Park, Alaska.

Cheers

Carl

  1. Hey Carl,

    Looks like a fun subject!

I gotta admit, after spending days and days adjusting photos and removing dust spots – as hard as I try, I can’t stop my eye from going straight to the dust bunny in the top photo.

I bet your snow is going fast now, ours sure is!

    Hey Ron,

Yeah man, the snow is going .. but there’s stil tons for skiing, especially early in the morning . cold nights make for good morning skiing! up high on the ridges, unless they face west and/or north, there’s still pretty good snow.

    ‘dust bunny’?? that’s a snowshoe hare. :)

    Cheers

  3. Of course – see I’m adjusting photos from the southwest – that’s bunny country, but obviously it has to be a snowshoe hare here!

  4. I see Yin and Yang when I look at this photo. Very cool.

  5. Of course I posted having just looked at the photo and not reading the title so back to drinking my lager… The title fits perfectly. LOL
